GUIDE TO USING CQS --
COMPARATIVE QUOTATION SYSTEM
CQS Demo Video
1 The on-line technology document can
be found at:
http://85.92.68.106/westminster/indexs.asp
(Please add this to
your ‘favourites’ even if only in an ironic way)
2 This will take you to the main page where you click on
the image. You will be requested to add your ‘username’ and
‘password’.
3 Once you have been logged on successfully a separate
window will open. Go to the ‘click here to continue’ link.
4 Click on the 0doc link (top left hand corner of the
window)
5 This screen presents you with a choice of four options.
To create a new PC quotation, click the ‘Add’ graphic on option 1.
6 Your centre will tell you what information to provide at
this stage. Typically, you might type in your Assessment Reference
Number for the report (this should mirror the reference number your
centre uses). The Report Title might be the student’s last name,
and the Version field could be '1', which is subsequently
incremented if you have to produce an updated quote for any reason.
Remember the Assessment Reference and the Report Title will be used
by the student when ordering their equipment.
7 Insert a tick by clicking the box under the ‘Include’
column for the items you require. A description will be available
when you click on the item under the ‘short description’ column.
This description no longer includes the price.
8 When you have finished, click on the ‘proceed’ link.
9 The view report link will allow you to view all the
quotations. Transfer your chosen quotations to your report:
highlight the relevant text with your mouse, type CTRL-C, move to
your document and type CTRL-V. Repeat for each of your chosen
quotations.
Alternatively you
could transfer all the quotations to your report: select ‘Edit’,
‘select all’, followed by ‘Edit’ and copy, then paste into your MS
Word document (a command beloved by all assessors). You can then
delete the unwanted quotations in your report. There is no need to
worry about totalling the report and/or adding VAT as all of this
will be undertaken by the program.
10 Close down the ‘view report’ window by clicking the cross
on the top right of the window. Click ‘Save report’ to save a copy
of the report for on-line editing and access by the supplier.
